Today’s massacre at the synagogue in Pittsburgh is deeply troubling. Across the globe my Jewish friends live in the reality of fear. For those who had their loved ones murdered, my heart aches for them. For those injured, wishes for a full recovery.
Days earlier we watched a shocking news cycle with the biggest assassination attempt in history as 14 or more bombs were sent across the country.
What is happening? I think we know.
How do we put the “genie back in the bottle”? How do we reverse the proliferation of bigotry, racism and hate?
Let’s start with not letting this just be another news cycle. Let’s elect leaders who have integrity and decency and are ready to stand up to hate speech coming from the president. Leadership has responsibility.
We will have to work hard to reverse the trend of hate in this country. But I do believe good will triumph over evil.
